Liar Game

This is a Japanese TV Drama that I have finished watching recently, it is comprised only of 11 episodes which are length about 40 minutes each except the last episode, which is a 3-hours special.

The main actress is Erika Toda (in pic) who also acted in Death Note Movie as Misa. In the drama she is a straight forward and kind person, she is also honest and believes others easily. Her characteristic is deemed as stupid, naived by other people. (Bare close resemblance to Misa Amane in Death Note). However, the main actor (in pic), is smart and good at psychology (bare close resemblance to L in Death Note). The series basically is about both of them got involved in a dangerous game named Liar Game Tournament (LGT), this is a game of deceive and strategy.

I would comment that the story is similar to that of Death Note as it is mainly about the battle of the brains. It is intellectually challenging to the brain when I am watching this and try to think who/what can be the obstacle to the people who joins the game. Besides, people try to lie and cheat in the game as it is encouraged by the host (hence the name liar game).

The story is actually based on the manga (which I haven't read), however, a series of 11 episodes is too short compared to the manga, the ending of the series also suggests a second season. I am looking forward to the second season (and if I have the chance, the manga too).
